Minnesota

We took a road trip to the Twin Cities to watch the Yankees take on the Twins.

Each major league ball park has its gourmet specialties. For the Twins, the specialty is pan fried walleye. It's the first pro ballpark I've seen to serve lake fish. We did not sample the walleye platter.

The game we saw was entertaining because the score was tight the whole time. The game went twelve innings with the Yanks taking it in the end.

On the morning of gameday, we met up with Mullins' sister Sarah for breakfast at the famous Key's Cafe & Bakery in downtown St. Paul. She is seen here along side Erin's cousin Ryan.

Over breakfast, Sarah was able to confirm a story Mullins had told me about her Toyota Corolla. In the past, Sarah enjoyed driving more exciting, sportier vehicles than the Corolla. The problem was, these sporty rides would always break down. Mullins helped convince her that a reliable car like the Corolla would give her more free time since she wouldn't be forever heading to the mechanic. Sarah made the trade off. Now, each time she gets into her dull, but reliable Corolla, she is reminded by an ever hanging 3M Brand sticky note that not having to worry about a lemon gives her more time for doing other stuff.

I learned from Bill Comstock and confirmed by experience that Walleye is one of the best-eating of all fish. He called it 'the greatest delicacy that the Missouri river has to offer'. Among salt-water fish, haddock rates at or near the top.
