Football Season!

College football season is fast approaching! Erin and I are heading down to Lawrence to help usher in the Charlie Weis era. We got some nice seats and we're looking forward to a fun night game. Hopefully the Jayhawks will start the season well.

Clearance KU at Old Navy

Ran across a pretty cool KU shirt for ~$5 at Old Navy the other day. Had already scored a clearance Michigan shirt a few months prior. Sadly - GT doesn't seem to be cool enough to merit an Old Navy tee.

NCAA Thunderous 24 In Place!

The Thunderous 24 is in place and surprisingly it includes Georgia Tech and Michigan State...More surprisingly is the absence of Tourney #1 seed Kansas. While the KU ousting shocked the country it is a feeling KU fans are somewhat used to... here's the deal though...if there is a National Championship sandwiched between these shocks (as there is in Kansas' case) it is a trade most will make.

I'm partial to this "FOX Expert's Picks" though he has much more faith in Georgia Tech than I do...



Regardless, it is nice to just see Tech in tourney after a few years sitting at home. And they had a nice run to the finals of the ACC Tourney as well.

I've got plenty of KU t-shirts, but try as I might, I could never find a black one. This was unfortunate, since black is my favorite t-shirt color. This weekend though, I finally found some nice looking KU tees in black:

JAYHAWKS WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

I've been waiting for this since 1991 when I started college at Kansas. At the time, I wasn't a college hoops fan at all. That changed very quickly and I've been a true blue Jayhawk ever since. Every year they were good. Every year they had a shot, but every year they fell short. Now, nearly 20 years after I became a Jayhawk fan, they have finally won it all!! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!!!

It was nice to see Roy Williams cheering on the Hawks during the finals. I'm not sure how Mullins and his sisters feel, but for me Roy did enough to redeem himself so I can finally bury my negative feelings toward him.

The game itself was very exciting going into overtime. I'm still amazed the Hawks could blow that 90 point cushion they built up in the opening minute of the game.
