College Football is Back!

Michigan already has some of their 2023 season brags up!  And rightly so!  Go Blue!

Minnesota Comes to Lincoln!!!!

Minnesota football has a nice rig!  Hopefully the 2021 season will be a little more normal.  And here's to a new team winning it all!

1940 Orange Bowl: GT 21 - Missouri 7

The game is vastly different than it is today! Mizzou scores first but GT's trickery denies the Tigers their first bowl victory ever.

Who's In? Georgia Tech, Nebraska and Arkansas all Featured!

In the pretty cool ESPN commercial advertising the new play-off GT, Nebraska and Arkansas were all featured.   Arkansas and Georgia Tech seem to be much cooler than the bouncing on his had 'lil red Farmer but something is better than nothing I guess!

Jack and Dad Take a Trip!

Jack and I had our "trip of firsts" that included his first major league baseball game where we saw the Giants come back to beat the Rockies.   Jack had fun at the game as the Giants do a great job of making the park kid friendly with cable cars, slides and other play areas.

We even watched a little baseball!

We then end to Nebraska (via Kansas City :( ) and got some good cousin time in while also catching Jack's first college football game! Sadly a UCLA victory that left the Husker faithful somewhat up in arms

The game wasn't the typical "sea of red" as Nebraska had designated new black uniforms be worn and fans were asked to follow suit. That, of course, was a boon to the t-shirt shops!

After the baseball game, we went to Fort Mason in San Francisco which offers some great views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate! We even discovered something even more rare...free parking!


The new basketball arena which has sparked a whole new area of development in Lincoln. We found stumbled across a great ice cream place in the hay-market!

There is virtually zero interest in seeing the ACC Championship this year...both Florida State and Georgia Tech come in after humiliating losses means a big yawn from Charlotte and the respective fan bases... If you have $3.95 you can attend!  $5 gets you a pretty dang good seat!

Football Season!

College football season is fast approaching! Erin and I are heading down to Lawrence to help usher in the Charlie Weis era. We got some nice seats and we're looking forward to a fun night game. Hopefully the Jayhawks will start the season well.

2012-2013 Bowl Projections! Yes Already!

Over a month to go until college football kicks off but we've got bowl projections already. The good news is all the teams we root for are projected to be included:

ASU to Big 12??? as ASU Dominates Sun Belt

Football season isn't far away.  Here's an article that appeared earlier in the year on ASU's prognosis for 2012 along with a very random projection that they will be joining the Big 12 eventually!

Too Many Bowl Games

Dad has frequently commented that there are too many college football bowl games. Last night's Saturday Night Live made the same observation and promoted some of the lower end games.

Notre Dame to ACC?

Realistically, Notre Dame would probably be welcomed into any conference they choose. I've always assumed it would eventually be the Big 10 though I guess I'm not opposed to seeing them in the ACC. My preference would be they remain an increasingly less relevant independent team.

Football Season is Here! Who Picked LSU over Oregon?

That was definitely my best pick during opening week-end. In total, I won two and lost two. 

Clifford and Michigan State???

Today was football day at school to celebrate the new season upon us.  Steph and I were a little appalled to see that Jack has outgrown everything but his Michigan State gear (of which there is a constant stream coming in courtesy of Aunt Jasper and Grandpa DeBruyn).   So Michigan State it was!  Go Sparties!

Elle, who owns no football gear, decided to celebrate by hopping on Clifford (the big red dog - implying she's rooting for Nebraska undoubtedly)

Steph and I will be placing some orders for Georgia Tech and Michigan clothing later today!
