Traveling through Paxton, NE last week, I finally visited a place I'd heard about for years called Ole's Big Game Bar. The place was opened in 1933 by a guy named Rosser O. Herstedt, who went by Ole. Ole traveled the globe in the 30's and 40's killing increasingly exotic animals. He brought them back to hang in the bar. The collection of more than 200 dead animals is neat, though depressing. The food is good. I had the chicken fried chicken. My buddy had prime rib. Ole's has had at least one celebrity visitor - Jack Dempsey.
