Corn Syrup Free Pecan Pie!

After watching Food, Inc. and learning that subsidized corn is a big contributor to our nation's food problems I decided to make a corn free pecan pie. I secured what turned out to be an excellent recipe at allrecipes.com

Here's the finished product:

The pie didn't last long...after two days it had been devoured.

Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:1 cup of light brown sugar
1/4 cup of white sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon of milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of chopped pecans

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. In a large bowl, beat eggs until foamy, stir in melted butter.
then stir in the sugar and flour and mix well. Add milk, vanilla and continue mixing. Finally hand mix in the nuts.
3. Pour into an unbaked 9-inch pie shell. Optionally you may add additional pecan halves on the top to make the pie prettier. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes. Then reduce temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 30 to 40 more minutes.
