Left over Pumpkin Pie Filling? Here's an Idea...
I bought a big can of pumpkin pie filling last year but only ended up baking one pie. With the extra filling I added some flour to thicken it up and threw it on a skillet to make a pumpkin pancake of sorts.
It wasn't half bad and several of us nibbled on it for a bit before throwing the rest to the dogs - I didn't cook it quite long enough so it was a little doughy in the center.

Buffalo Wild Wings Grand Opening = Woodstock
This is an analogy my friend used and it fits the bill.
There is a grand opening of a Buffalo Wild Wings in Folsom this morning and as part of their opening promotion they are offering free wings for a year for the first 100 customers.
We went out for milkshakes last night and it was a zoo.
They may have an uphill battle however.... Across the street a Ruby Tuesdays just closed down. And so it goes in this economy...
Good Luck Buffalo Wild Wings!

Two Twins Café
Erin took me for a special birthday celebration breakfast at a new diner in Lincoln called the Two Twins Café. It had gotten a good write up in the Journal Star so we were looking forward to trying it out.
Interestingly, the owners of the cafe have (or maybe had) a similar one in Sacramento, CA. Also, the owners are actually twins. Two Twins claims to use top quality ingredients and to make everything from scratch.
Erin and I both opted for omelette meals with a giant griddle cake. I went with the potato side while Erin went with the breakfast rice. I also added a biscuit with gravy. We both really liked our meals and give the place high marks. It was a great birthday feast!

Cabo Timeshare
A few days ago I received an interesting offer. Would I like to have for free a timeshare in Cabo San Lucas. Here are some of the details:
Several years ago, the timeshare was purchased for $13,000.
He hadn't used it since purchasing it.
He dutifully paid the yearly "maintenance" fees of ~$800.
After trying to sell the thing over the web it was clear there was no real value for it. As a result, the seller had read the fine print and discovered that he could pay the company to take it back.
After I thanked him for his offer and respectfully declined he cut the check and mailed the title back. The albatross had been lifted.

The Response Vol. II
29 Responses in less than an hour...! I've since removed the post and respondent number 1 has already picked up the table!
Interestingly - the same guy picked up a bookshelf from us a few weeks ago after being our first response. Guess we know what this guy does in his free time! Monitor the Craigslist "free" section!

The Mad Men Building
I've been catching up on the hit AMC show Mad Men, which takes place in a Manhattan advertising agency circa 1960. The building the agency works out of (at least through season two) is prominently featured in the show's opening and is often shown during the show itself. This the building:
After seeing this a number of times, I realized the building looked familiar. Here is a picture of the building I work in in Lincoln:
They're very similar. Maybe I can use that to create some Don Draper magic to convince a judge of something.
