This weekend: "Land of the Dead"!! With reviews like the ones below, how can it miss? My only question is, will Romero's zombies be runners like in recent zombie flicks, or amblers like in the original "Night of the Living Dead". I do know this from the preview...the zombies are beginning to think and strategize making it all the more difficult for the remaining humans. FUN! US Population 15,000,000; 90% are living dead!
For those of you who would rather rent or buy, check out the 2004 release "Dawn of the Dead" on DVD. It's a great zombie flick. The first 10 minutes through the sequence cut to Johnny's Cash's "The man comes around" are alone worth the price of the disc!
"George A. Romero's Land of the Dead reveals that Romero remains the master of a genre he reinvented."
-- Kevin Thomas, LOS ANGELES TIMES
"The latest installment could well be Romero's masterpiece."
-- Michael Rechtshaffen, HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
"An excellent freakout of a movie."
-- Manohla Dargis, NEW YORK TIMES
"It's good to see [Romero] back in the genre he invented with Night of the Living Dead, and still using zombies not simply for target practice but as a device for social satire."
-- Roger Ebert, CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
